Employment / Labour / Labor law:

-
Employment contract - you can easily avoid problems when you have a clear contract of employment as early as possible. We help you to design a contract which is based on your needs and protects you later in the best way as possible.
-
Notice protection suit (=Kündigungsschutzklage). If your contract gets terminated you have 2 weeks after recieving the termination notice to lodge a complaint. It is very important to not miss the deadline. If you are uncertain about what to do, contact us now and explain your situation.
In Germany it is generally very common to file a notice protection suite as it's likely to get a compensation.
-
Maternity leave - what rights do you have? Can your contract get terminated during the maternity leave? When can you go back to work? In many cases you have the right to go back to work early even if you originally have agreed to a later time.
What can you do as an employer?
-
Health and unemployment insurance -who has to pay and how can I benefit? What is covered? What can I do when the health insurance refuses to pay?
-
I have recieved a warning ("Abmahnung") from my employer - should I accept it? What are the consequences? If you haven't violated any work obligation you should make a counter statement. We tell you why it is important to have evidence and when you should consider to lodge a complaint.
-
Corona Virus (Covid-19, SARS CoV-2): Effects on employers: short-time work. Will I get paid less? How much will I get? Can I refuse it? Who has to apply for "Kurzarbeitergeld" (=reduced hours compensation). Can I stay at home? We strongly recommend to get an agreement for "Kurzarbeit" checked by a lawyer before you sign it.

Family law:

-
Divorce in Germany - what do I need to consider? In Germany you can get divorced when the marriage has irretrievably broken down and causes are not considered. The courts in Germany have jurisdiction over divorce cases if the couple are EU nationals and have their permanent residence in Germany.
-
Marriage in Germany for foreign people
-
Child custody - who has the custody and what can I do to get it?
